Shared Prayer

God of all grace We praise You, for You are good, and Your mercy never fails. Scripture says that though You cause grief, yet will You have compassion according to the multitude of Your mercies. We hold to that promise when sorrow comes and the heart feels heavy, because Your compassion is greater than our pain. Teach us to bow to Your will and trust You even when we do not understand what You are doing. Comfort those who weep, and lift up the ones weary from loss and long waiting. Through our God we will endure this grief and come out standing, for Your mercies are new and beyond counting. Keep our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, so we do not lose hope before Your compassion appears. Thank You for loving us tenderly, for never turning away from our tears, and for holding us close until joy returns. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
