Shared Prayer

O Holy One that answers prayers You are worthy of all praise, Lord, for You are faithful to every generation and Your mercies never run dry. Your word calls us to do good whenever the opportunity is before us, and especially to those who belong to Your household of faith. We have not always answered that call. We have held back when we should have given, turned away when we should have stayed, and chosen comfort over compassion. Forgive us, Lord. Stir us to open our hands and our hearts. Where there is need among Your people, let us not pass it by. And beyond Your household, let our lives be a witness of Your goodness to everyone we meet. We trust that all things work together for our good as we walk in love and obedience to Your will. Great is Your faithfulness, O Lord, for You never leave us without the grace to do what You have commanded. Thank You for calling us to this life of purposeful love. Blessed be the name of the Lord, forevermore. Amen.
