Shared Prayer

Gracious Father You have promised to wipe away all tears from our eyes, and to remove death, sorrow, crying, and pain, because the former things are passed away. Strengthen the believer weeping after a funeral, and the family driven from home by violence, and keep their hope fixed on what You have spoken. When grief feels heavy and fear presses in, hold our minds in Your truth and keep us from despair. We confess before You, great is thy faithfulness O Lord, and we ask You to make that confession live in our hearts. Crown us with your lovingkindness and tender mercies, and help us endure with clean hands and a soft spirit until Your promise is seen. Thank You for the sure comfort of Your Word, and for the coming day when tears will be no more. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. Amen.
