Shared Prayer

Father You are the God of perfect peace, and we honor You. Your word promises that You will keep in perfect peace the one whose mind is stayed on You, because they trust in You. We confess that our minds have not always rested in You. Worry has pulled our thoughts away, and the noise of this troubled world has unsettled us deeply. But we return to You. We fix our thoughts on You, on Your faithfulness, Your power, and Your promises. Scripture assures us that Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever, and so the peace You have promised has not expired. We stand on it. We receive it. Lord, crown us with Your lovingkindness and tender mercies as we choose to trust You completely. Let that settled, guarded peace rule in every anxious heart. We are grateful that trust in You is never wasted. In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus. Amen.
