Shared Prayer

O Lord, who hears and answers prayers Your Word says that faith, hope, and charity remain, and the greatest of these is charity. We confess that many of us have grown cold, guarded, and easily offended. Wash us from bitterness, envy, and harsh speech. By Your Spirit, put real love in our hearts for family members who wound us, coworkers who provoke us, and believers who disagree with us. Let charity govern our words, our messages, and our decisions, so that we do not repay evil for evil. We ask with faith because it is written, and we depend on Your power, not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord. Thank You for loving us first, for forgiving us freely, and for making Your love possible in us. Let Your name be honored through our charity. Blessed be the name of the Lord. Amen.
