Shared Prayer

God of heaven I praise You, for You are the God who reconciles, and every good thing comes from You. You are my peace, and You are the One who joined this marriage together. Your word says that a husband and wife are no longer two but one flesh, and what You have joined together, let not man put asunder. I stand on that now. Through Jesus Christ You reconciled us to Yourself, and You have given us the ministry of reconciliation, so I refuse to accept this separation as final. Soften both hearts, Lord. You promised to take away the stony heart and give a heart of flesh, and to put a new spirit within. Do that in my heart and in his. Break the hardness, the bitterness, and the silence between us. In Jesus name I declare that this divorce does not stand, and that broken trust is healed. Lord hasten your word to perform it, and turn us back to each other in forgiveness. I am afraid and weary, but great is thy faithfulness O Lord, and I lean on that. Thank You for hearing me, and for working even now where I cannot see. I believe and receive the restoration You promised. Thy will be done. Amen.
